Starting from yuna, mao and virtuemoir in 2010 to yuzuru and patrick in 2014 and now javier. Such legends.
Brian Orser and Tracy Wilson are literally Yuzu's and Javi's parents. They're so cute in the background everytime Javi lands a jump and they're so supportive of their children. What great coaches, honestly.
I’ve always seen him as a very gentle and mature skater. Should’ve gotten silver here but hey, he aimed merely for a medal and he got it. I wish him good luck for what’s to come and thank you for the joy that he gave us through skating!!!
Also late comment Javier fernandez had 2 quads and 2x3A (4 difficult elements). Hanyu had 4xquad and 1x3A (5 difficult elements). Hanyu had one extra difficult element for gold, so why is it hard to conceive Javi getting silver. In fact, Hanyu had a serious combo error on one combo so practically 4 difficult base value elements. If Javi didn't pop, he'd have higher base value than hanyu due to Hanyus + combo.
After he narrowly missed the podium in Sochi, it was so great that he won a medal four years later at his last Olympic Games. I was happy for him because he aimed for a medal and he reached his goal. Congratulations, Javi!
You can easily remove all the jumps from this skate and still remain with a brilliant performance, which is a rare thing today. Javi has that specific emotion and artistry that sets him apart from other skaters. His charm and charisma are mesmerizing and you can also feel his connection with the crowd. He's for sure one of my absolute favourites. Bravo!!
his skating and performance really does highlight a gentle and non toxic masculinity that is so charming. love him, and i'll miss him. (PS - silver was earned here, indeed.)
I totally agree. Masculine, artistic, athletic men's figure skating at its best. Javi is a pleasure to watch...very heart warming. His skating is truly inspirational. He will be greatly missed!
What I love about Javi is he always seems to be having fun, no matter what element he's doing. Like he's enjoying the feeling of gliding and using edges and doing footwork. Idk that's just the impression I get :)
I wish people would stop brining certain names when talking about Javi. He's a legend, a hero, an inspiration. Stop referring to him as someone's friend or rival or whatever. He's his own person, and an amazing athlete.
I still wish he'd been second, nothing against Shoma, but I just connected more with his performance and it would've been nice to see a 1-2 for TCC bros too:) But still, it was the podium I wanted, so proud of Javi for winning bronze. Pride of Spain.
I have watched this performance many times and never get tired of it. It is like a farewell to the skating world of one the greatest figure skaters ever. Javier is a true performer and showman. He has all the class and persona that projects a marvelous image of a true men's skater. He is so clean and smooth on the ice. 1. I love this program and I absolutely died watching it the first time. It's so technically clean and so beautifully skated. He is an expressive and artistic skater who I miss every day. 2. It always makes me SO SAD when I see empty seats at figure skating events like these. Like!!! l want that seat, I would give a kidney for that seat!! How is everyone not so excited?!?!?! To see Javi's last Olympic skate?!!? Stupid empty seats
It's the one medalist program I actually remember from the men's competition, like first of all the music was just an excellent choice, I love Man of La Mancha, but like I actually felt drawn into it compared to the gold and silver medalists. I cannot recall anything about their skates other than they seemed to lack something... him however, there was a whole lot of soul in there to go with his skill. I didn't know at the time it was his last Olympic skate, but knowing that now makes ending the program with 'Impossible Dream' seem very fitting indeed.
Very late reply but I tried to get tickets to this event and it was sold out! So all the tickets were sold so the empty seats might be for officials who didn’t end up coming, etc

I personally prefer this program than the A La Perfection free program in the World Championships 2016 as I see how hard he tries to achieve that performance. I believe that he should have given at least the silver medal at the Pyeongchang Olympic Games 2018.
Some skaters who seem to refuse to skate beautifully because they are insecure in their masculinity need to take notes on Javi's gentle, elegant, masculine style of interpretation
rewatching this straight after watching him win at the 2019 euros. I sobbed today just liked I sobbed watching this skate live. couldn't ask for a better end to a career. he's my fave skater now and always.
Ah magnificent Javier Fernandez! All I can say is that I am happy for him to medal at Pyeongchang, he's a blessing to the sport, and competitions without him left me feeling 'ah I miss Javi'. Gonna miss him a lot more after Europeans :"")
What a beautiful performance. After watching the Beijing Olympics it feels refreshing to see such a beautiful performance filled with soul and passion get a 2nd place. Not everything is about the jumps, sadly that's all judges care about these days.
Tomorrow I am going to Minsk to see the latest Javier’s competition. I will miss this beautiful Spanish man so much... This sport will lose a lot without our Javi. Vamos, Javi ❤️🇪🇸
I could not agree more. Javi is a man's man when it comes to skating. Like ballet on ice...controlled, fluid, strong, determined, graceful, masculine and lifts the soul to another level. He truly has become my fav! And I have been watching figure skating since Peggy Fleming.
I do not tire of watching this brilliant performance! It's the end of 2020, so more than 2 years later, and Javi's performances still added beauty to my life, including in pandemic confinements! Javier Fernandez for ever! 🥰❤️❤️❤️
I remember vividly watching this performance live in the middle of the night with tears in my eyes... Javi, you're an absolute legend and your skating will always bring joy to me. Love you forever ^^

There is just something special about his jumps. It's as though he is hovering, weightless. As though time itself slows down to give him space to work.
FINALLY! Thank you for uploading this performance; I've been wanting to see it again for ages T-T I usually get upset or happy for the skaters depending on the scores they get while watching a competition, but this was the first time I cried. I still do every time I see it. It steals my heart and overwhelms me with all emotions and feelings at once, so much that I can't help it. The fact that it was the Olympics, Javier's history has a skater, the layout of the program, his connection with the music while performing, his known desire to redeem himself from Sochi, all of these intertwined in this beautiful moment. For me, no words will be able to accurately describe Javier's Man of La Mancha at the Olympics. Well done, Cricket family!!!
Too bad I only got into figure skating now and won't be able to see Javi skating in future competitions. I love his programs and personality! Always wishing him the best
such a graceful and soooo clean performance 😊 I am so proud of Javi. Although personally I think he deserves Silver.. but at least his hope to get medal in his last Olympic has become reality. I always pray for Javi's health and happiness for his future 😇🙏
Good to see him win an Olympic Bronze Medal almost a year ago. Since that 4th place finished in Sochi 2014, where he was a medal contender but just missed out of the medal. I know that he can make a comeback and win a medal, after winning two world titles (2015 & 2016), to go along with his six European titles. I predicted that during the Olympic season, he can win a medal, with strong competition in the Olympic season. During both Short and Long Program I was keeping my fingers cross for him to skate strongly, and I found out that his overall standings after the Free Skate that he was in second place, with one skater left to go, knowing that he is going to be the first Spanish Figure Skater to win an Olympic Medal, but for me it doesn't matter if he wins a silver or bronze, obviously I love to see him win a silver medal, however; a medal is a medal.
Uno’s quad loop was definitely underrotated. I knew it the second he fell the jump in the arena when I was watching him in Gangneung. That one element could’ve changed the result but it was not called... 😕
Javier has simply gentlemen in every moves, I would love to see him someday on the skate again just to see him perform. I think Brian Oser is brilliant raising figure skare athlete
Okay now I'm officially addicted to Javi and Yuzu ! I just started watching them 2 days ago...why I didn't know them before 😕 and Javi he is gorgeous and most graceful man I have ever seen ❤
Besides javi there's no greatest rival for yuzu in terms of technical, artistry, and healthy sportmanship. Skaters nowadays focusing too much on the jumps and spins. well in conc, i miss javi
Im watching women's single skating, and i took a look to check on the male's contestants.... searched for javier's name, and it struck me that he retired..... this hits me in the feels

Javier is an artist and athlete, pouring his heart into every moment & movement. I love watching him like I love listening to music. Very artistic!!!
Tomorrow I am going to Minsk to see the latest Javier’s competition.
I will miss this beautiful Spanish man so much...
This sport will lose a lot without our Javi.
Vamos, Javi ❤️🇪🇸
Please do fancams, he has so little of them(
Of course i will. SP done😊
I just love this choreography, such a fun routine to watch!
Todavía me sigo emocionando cuando lo veo. Ha hecho historia! One of the best in the world
Ladies and gentlemen, the PyeongChang 2018 silver medalist.
AT CM I’m convinced it was just skate-order :-/
So silly, but that does still matter to judges
AT CM I would not agree more ... just if shomas underrotated 4loop was called
Kind of being disrespectful as the silver medalist was literally murdered
..unless I’m thinking of someone else?
@@heartshapedIeaves You're referring to Denis Ten, and yes you got it wrong. The silver medalist in Pyeongchang was Japan's Shoma Uno.
It was the performance and the program of the night for me. Better than the gold and silver. Heart and soul just oozed out of this performance. Bravo!
Eric Actually i cant feel the heart and soul. He was so nervous haha. But this is definitely artistic.
Loser 😇
I could not agree more. Javi is a man's man when it comes to skating. Like ballet on ice...controlled, fluid, strong, determined, graceful, masculine and lifts the soul to another level. He truly has become my fav! And I have been watching figure skating since Peggy Fleming.
He deserved the silver medal! 👑
Yes!
Fantastic end to a fantastic career. Hope he wins Europeans one last time this year!
indeed he did
i think he could have won this yEAR's 2020 europeans as well.
it was so dead boring
around 1:30 when javi lands the combo, you can see tracy and brian jumping up and down in the background! 😭❤️
I do not tire of watching this brilliant performance!
It's the end of 2020, so more than 2 years later, and Javi's performances still added beauty to my life, including in pandemic confinements! Javier Fernandez for ever! 🥰❤️❤️❤️
What a nice man, Javier Fernandez. Also an excellent figure skater.
some of the strongest athletes in the world right there
Ato Plodzicki-Faoagali Well it is the Olympics
Such an underrated figure skater! Who wouldn’t like Javi?

I remember vividly watching this performance live in the middle of the night with tears in my eyes... Javi, you're an absolute legend and your skating will always bring joy to me. Love you forever ^^
“I miss Javi...”
javi deserved silver thanks for coming to my ted talk
Nataliya Nabakova Love this!
I was spellbound! Amazing Javier!
THEY WERE SO HAPPY WHEN HE HAD GOT HIMSELF A MEDAL CAUSE NO MATTER WHAT SHOMA WAS THE KAST TO PREFORM AND IF SHOMA SCORED SECOND OR THIRD JAVI WOULD'VE GOTTEN A MEDAL IM SO HAPPY.
LOOK HOW HAPPY YUZU IS FOR JAVI ~T_T~ MY BOYS
Been waiting for this for almost a year!!! Te amo Javi! And my love for Tracy and Brian! Best coaches you can ever get! And ofcourse David too for his always outstanding choreographies ❤️🇪🇸😍
I love his skating💓
Gracias, gracias gracias😘❤️
There is just something special about his jumps. It's as though he is hovering, weightless. As though time itself slows down to give him space to work.
Gracias Javier, no hay palabras.
I'm so proud of being spanish.
This is the one medal winning performance I remember, it felt like there was soul in it.
Great scating!
7:55 what a great moment! They just realized he will get a medal 😭❤️
Too bad I only got into figure skating now and won't be able to see Javi skating in future competitions. I love his programs and personality! Always wishing him the best
This was really a great performance it was better than I remembered.
neoh mike81 Me too
beautiful costume, incredible program, unbelievable javier
He looked like real life Disney prince, with the fitting music and all. Wonderful!
He's so spanish, pure fuego🔥🔥🔥
Can't believe he retired, he looks like he's in his prime!!!!! Talk about going out with a bang
it's such a shame he retired, i watched him skate this exact program last night and he enchanted me
such a graceful and soooo clean performance 😊 I am so proud of Javi. Although personally I think he deserves Silver.. but at least his hope to get medal in his last Olympic has become reality. I always pray for Javi's health and happiness for his future 😇🙏
His jumps and artistry are something else
this brings me to tears everytime😭
Love his skating so much
Good to see him win an Olympic Bronze Medal almost a year ago.
For me, this performance just screams "LOOK. AT. ME." and I love it. I don't want to look away from it, like, ever.
Should've won silver, change my mind
Wioletta Warcaba nowww where did I put those mind changing pills....
Uno’s quad loop was definitely underrotated. I knew it the second he fell the jump in the arena when I was watching him in Gangneung. That one element could’ve changed the result but it was not called... 😕
Should've won silver, you can't change my mind 🤷
You're absolutely right and you should say it
Javier has simply gentlemen in every moves, I would love to see him someday on the skate again just to see him perform. I think Brian Oser is brilliant raising figure skare athlete
I don't really watch men's skating, but from what I have watched he is definitely my favorite men's skater!
Okay now I'm officially addicted to Javi and Yuzu ! I just started watching them 2 days ago...why I didn't know them before 😕 and Javi he is gorgeous and most graceful man I have ever seen ❤
i can´t stop crying whenever i see this amazing performance
Besides javi there's no greatest rival for yuzu in terms of technical, artistry, and healthy sportmanship.
Skaters nowadays focusing too much on the jumps and spins.
well in conc, i miss javi
Thank you to Javier for the many years of skating excellence.
I'm already missing him so much 💕
Impecable.
him so much!
Javier , one of the best skaters in the world...the real silver medalist
Im watching women's single skating, and i took a look to check on the male's contestants.... searched for javier's name, and it struck me that he retired..... this hits me in the feels
